And the answer is, to do hair again (insert cartwheels, excited squeals, & high-fives here!). Totally unexpected (by us -but our big God is all-knowing & working it all together...), my boss at the Academy let me know that to continue at the Academy, due to restructuring, my job, as of June 1st, would change from M-F 8-5pm with office + teaching days to T-Sat 830-430pm with no more office/business-side at all...
Long story short, Daniel & I decided it was time to move on. I'd been looking at "doing hair on the side" anyway because I missed it, so we decided this would be a good time to take our time, throw out lots of resumes, be choosy & find a salon that really seemed a good fit. That fit is Easel Hair Studio in Georgetown (which is a fun, upscale shopping district in DC proper, but not far from our home). Through networking, know the owners & really agree with their ethics & how they've chosen to run the place -they run a sassy little salon with a really artsy feel to it! Take a look: www.easelhair.com
My boss already found out through the salon network grapevine, & he's supportive of my decision, actually. I'll formally put in resignation in a week or two, finish July 31st, leave for a trip to see fam in IA, then come back & start at the salon AUGUST 12th!
For those of you that live nearby, my appointment books will be opened up on their computer beginning/mid-July so that people can start booking appts for 8/12 & after!!
