Our New Small Group!

Our Sunday school class of young marrieds is getting so big that we decided as a class to join our church's initiative to get plugged into small groups so we could better stay connected & encourage each other. The part of the DC metro area that we live in is known as the corridor of 20 & 30-somethings, so being intergenerational, which is our church's (& our!) preferred model, is tough. So what they've done is form 5 (maxed out) small groups of young couples, & each having at least one "mentor couple" that's a good bit further through life than we are to help us along. (We'll go through application questions that springboard off that week's sermon.) So, Daniel & I said we'd be willing to host/facilitate a group, they asked if we could, we've gone through some training & reading Paul Tripp's "Instruments in the Redeemer's Hands" (excellent read -highly recommended!), & it all started Thursday with a grill-out at our place. We're looking forward to the upcoming year together -there's 5 of us young couples, plus 1 mentor couple currently.
