How could we not indulge in THE tourist trap of the year -watching the fireworks while actually sitting on the National Mall -the US Capitol building behind us, the Washington Monument in front of us, & the spectacular fireworks being shot off by the Reflecting Pool down near the other end of the Mall (by the Lincoln Memorial). Some of our friends, we found out later, were sitting on the steps of the Capitol building watching & listening to the Symphony's concert AND the fireworks -guess where we'll be next year?!? we were over @ bolling sitting on the banks of the patomac river! how blessed are we to be able to do stuff like this!!!!
