Yeeeeeaaaahhhhh!!!!!!!!!! As of today we are debt free!!! Apparently Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac had a bad day already and we did our small part by kicking 'ole Sallie to the curb!!
About 3 years ago we "woke up" to our financial situation to realize we had a debt to income ratio of 2:1. Yep, that means that these two bright kiddos had managed to out-spend themselves twice over by the ripe old age of 24. Since then we've by plodding with a purpose: to dig out of the hole. Sometimes the Lord blessed us with a phenomenal surprise, but mostly it was persistent plodding. And here we are...DEBT FREE!!!
Three verses that gave us resolve:
Psalms 22:7 The rich rules over the poor,
and the borrower is the slave of the lender.
Rom 13:8 Owe no one anything, except to love each other,
for the one who loves another has fulfilled the law.
Psalms 6:1-6 My son, if you have put up security for your neighbor, have given your pledge for a stranger,...then do this, my son, and save yourself,...Give your eyes no sleep and your eyelids no slumber; save yourself like a gazelle from the hand of the hunter, like a bird from the hand of the fowler.
If we can do it, so can you!! May our story encourage you to financial freedom!

Yippeee!!!! Doesn't it feel great?? What freedom of that weight!! We are so excited for you guys! We were doing preapproval for a mortgage last week and she was a bit surprised at our 'no debt, just money sitting in the bank' situation. Pretty boring aren't we? : ) Love, Jennie and Patrick
