We watched the fireworks from Iwo Jima Memorial, which is located 5-7 minute walk from our apartment. Played a few good rounds of Mille Bourne card game with our friends Patrick & Jenny while we waited for the show to begin. The pix of the fireworks themselves doesn't do it justice (it's actually a video, but I can't figure out how to upload a video onto our blog) -there were 3-4 big fireworx up in the air at any given time, & it was a good 15 minutes long probably. Pretty spectacular -definitely worth becoming a tradition to do both the parade & fireworks -maybe next year we'll stay down on the mall & get to hear the orchestra play in sync with the shooting off of the fireworks -that'd be really neat :)
